This comic strip reminds me of when I was a boy and would read "MAD" magazine at every opportunity, although my father strongly disapproved of it.
Gosh, gee whillikers, back then, an issue of "MAD" magazine only cost twenty-five cents!

Anyway, I copied today's "JOHNNY OPTIMISM" comic strip and posted it on my own personal web site, "OUR ETERNAL STRUGGLE", giving you due credit (or blame?).

I start that series off with the Nazi propaganda film, "TRIUMPH OF THE WILL", for it was after viewing that movie that Frank Capra was inspired to create the "WHY WE FIGHT" series of seven (07) movies.
The entire collection is almost nine (09) hours long, but you can pick and choose which movie(s) you want to watch.

@John Robert Mallernee- I haven't read MAD magazine in decades, but oh how I loved it in my youth (and I have prized paperbacks of the very earliest issues). I just read yesterday that MAD has released an app which will let you read the magazine on an iPad - for $4.99 for each new issue and (I think) $1.99 for back issues. Yikes! Of course, since I'm also too cheap to have an iPad, this isn't a problem for me.
Regarding April Fool's day, I didn't really do anything other than post a special Johnny cartoon. Not that I don't enjoy a good joke (and I'll definitely visit your site and check out your mischief!)
And I'll look for the Frank Capra films. It probably comes as very little surprise that I'm very much a Capra fan.
@Pete(Detroit)- Not only could they charge admission, they could get a guy in a straw hat and a striped coat to stand out front saying "Hurry, hurry, hurry! See nature's mistakes - alive, alive!"
Pardon my flight of fancy, but I was a big fan of the 10-in-1 Freak Shows in my youth. Never to scoff at or ridicule the medically challenged people under the canvas, but just to get a glimpse of how people with tough obstacles were coping and living their lives. Politically incorrect? I suppose - but I still remember the people I saw (and frequently bought autographed cards from) as celebrities, not "freaks."
