I found your website, and I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you. Johnny's adorable too, and he gives me hope, laughter, and a deep sense of regret about my bad, bad sense of humor. Thank you.
Elise- That's very nice of you to say. But don't regret your "bad, bad" sense of humor - it's actually a form of strength. Perverse strength, but still. Moreover, the secret ingredient (don't tell anyone!) to Johnny's humor isn't the awfulness...it's the empathy. It takes both elements to create the zesty lemon-lime sparkle!
And with a website name like "Kissing The Leper," you just know I'm going to visit your site right now. (PS: I'm back! It's good!)
Recenly diagnosed with cancer that has spread and should be starting treatments next week or so and have to say this stuff has me laughing my ass off! Sort of gallows humor for the ill. Keep it up please, it may just help me win the battle.
@Glenn B- I'm tremendously sorry about your diagnosis, and unbelievably humbled and honored that Johnny is keeping you laughing. It's actually "gallows humor" for all of us, because none of us gets through life unscathed. And I've been really gratified to hear from people who have had significant medical challenges who "get" where this strip is coming from and hear that it makes them laugh.
Rest assured that plenty of new Johnny cartoons are waiting in the pipeline for you to enjoy during your treatment and recovery. And not to reveal any spoilers about the strip, but no matter how much devastatingly bad news Johnny gets, he remains positive and upbeat and (like the Energizer bunny) keeps going, and going, and going. As we all should.
Please keep me posted (to whatever extent you're comfortable doing so). I'll certainly be thinking positive thoughts for you (as will Johnny and Lance).

I blush.

@Elise- It could be a blush, or could be inflammation. Just to be on the safe side, better check with one of Johnny's doctors.
