Since I've only been coming to this site for several months, I have to ask...is Gil a new character or did you fish him out of past cartoons?

  2. To let Stilt off the hook, I'll just say it's the first I've seen him too. have to wonder how he GOT in the bottle - does he collapse, like a ship? Did they put him in there when he was Very Small? A botched 'procedure' saved for future study? Where ARE the bubbles coming from?

  3. @Angry Hoosier Dad- There's scads of Johnny cartoons in the archives. But searching for "Bubble Boy" won't help - this is his debut appearance. I like to broaden the number of players in Johnny's world when I can. Has "Bowling Ball Boy" appeared here yet? I sometimes can't remember what's been on the page, and what is still in the queue.

@Pete(Detroit)- In my mind (caution: entering dark and scary territory) Bubble Boy needs to be in there owing to an odd medical condition. How he got in there, and where the bubbles are coming from, will almost certainly be the subject of future cartoons.

  5. @Stan da Man- nice catch. ("Catch," get it?)

@John Robert Mallernee- Johnny's not hallucinating..."Bubble Boy" really lives in there owing to some odd medical condition. You have to give points to Johnny for taking everything in stride, though. With all of the tough knocks he's had, he doesn't get rattled easily...and he doesn't look down on anyone because of their infirmities or eccentricities.

  6. After viewing this post, I was feeling good; I even dropped a sand dollar in the box for Jerry's Squids, for the halibut.

Thanks man, it's been a while. Have that on tape, somewhere, pulled from Dr Demento bradcast back in the 80's...

  8. Oliver & Pete(Detroit)- I was unfamiliar with the "Wet Dream" video (and was more than a little afraid to click on it). But I enjoyed it a lot, and am glad to let OTHERS know that there's nothing sexual or risque about it - it's simply a talking comedy video which consists of five minutes of the corniest "fish" puns I've ever heard strung together.

  9. Fish puns? Y'mean like...(to Oliver) "What's that? I'm hard of herring!" Sorry, I couldn't help myself...there was an old radio commercial that used that combination of lines.
