@Dan Mathewson- It's sort of like the hospital scene in "Catch 22" in which a patient has one bottle going in, one bottle going out, and a nurse who simply rotates the two bottles when one is empty and the other full.

Why? So, the kid doesn't have to take time away from drinking to relieve him/herself.
