HAPPY HALLOWEEN from Johnny, Lance, and Stilton!

halloween, wheelchair, costume, costumes, wheelchair costumes, johnny optimism, johnnyoptimism, medical humor, stilton jarlsberg
And here's the best Halloween treat I can share with you. All of these costumes have been built around wheelchairs. I'm genuinely in awe of these great kids and their families!

  1. Those are great photographs!

I copied and posted them on my web site, giving you full credit, and providing automatic links to your web sites.

  2. Liking the flintstone-mobile, and of course the heavy equipment operators, but the Vader Tie Fighter was just inspired! Ok, they're all pretty cool, but I'm just an old nerd like that.

  3. I was all set to post some tasteless comment about Lance's diarrhea, and unfortunately our 13 year old Labrador Sophie sometimes has that affliction. Then I saw the great wheelchair cartoons. Wow, those kids are having fun and are really inspiring. Thanks.

  4. @John Robert Mallernee- I was delighted to find these pictures on the Internet and put them together in one place. Someone would need a pretty hard heart not to get a smile from these imaginative kids!

@Pete(Detroit)- I think my favorite may be the little "Good Humor" ice cream truck.

@TrickyRicky- I know about old dogs and diarrhea (which sounds like a joke, but isn't). I basically wore out a rug cleaning machine during the final months of our german shepherd's life. Small price to pay, though - she was a wonderful dog.

And while I wanted a Halloween cartoon for today, the real treat for me is the kids with their wheelchairs. "Johnny Optimism" isn't about making fun of a kid in a wheelchair, it's about trying to laugh when life throws crap our way - and saluting the courage of those who don't let it get them down. These kids are an inspiration and a delight.

  7. Very inspiring! My wife works with DD kids (not generally in wheelchairs) but she will get a kick out of this! Thanks!
