Up here it'd be raccoon or porcupine, both of which I've hit when they ran under the wheels, and almost a couple of moose. Eventually you learn not to swerve, except for the moose, because there isn't the critter made that's worth killing yourself in a ditch and wrecking a new car in the process for.
In Texas I’m guessing it’s armadillo. They’re everywhere.
