  1. I was more of a high, functioning artistic back in the day.
    Commas are important.

  2. Is this another one of those jokes that needs further explanation for us less educated folks?

  3. @John Robert Mallernee- Your education is fine, it's my cryptic sense of humor that needs work. The backstory is that I recently had an "Aha!" moment and realized that my adorable quirkiness is actually a form of spectrum disorder (it runs in my family) that could be called "high-functioning autism." This came as a bit of a shock, so I was using the cartoon as personal catharsis - acknowledging the condition but grumpily self-doubting the "high-functioning" part. So in this case, you don't need more education to get the "joke," you need to be a mind reader. Sorry!

  4. In memory of Henny Youngman, I'll say it: "Okay kid, you're ugly too."

  5. @JustaJeepGuy- Was that Youngman or Dangerfield. Either way, a classic line!

    1. @Stilt, the complete lack of respect may very well indicate a Dangerfield joke instead of a Youngman one. Now, I'm not sure and I await correction with contrition.

  6. @Slowpoke Galoot and TrickyRicky- I feel like I've found my tribe. Although I was never high back in the day. Recently, though, I've discovered gummies. Party time!

  7. When I was a child I thought they said I was "artistic" and wasted a lot of time and money on oil paints, watercolors, and charcoal pencils before I realized my mistake and began to pursue a more low-functioning career.

    1. @Gordon R. Durand- It's certainly possible to be both autistic and artistic. Not to mention a great way to meet nude models!
