@John Robert Mallernee- Your education is fine, it's my cryptic sense of humor that needs work. The backstory is that I recently had an "Aha!" moment and realized that my adorable quirkiness is actually a form of spectrum disorder (it runs in my family) that could be called "high-functioning autism." This came as a bit of a shock, so I was using the cartoon as personal catharsis - acknowledging the condition but grumpily self-doubting the "high-functioning" part. So in this case, you don't need more education to get the "joke," you need to be a mind reader. Sorry!
@Stilt, the complete lack of respect may very well indicate a Dangerfield joke instead of a Youngman one. Now, I'm not sure and I await correction with contrition.
@Slowpoke Galoot and TrickyRicky- I feel like I've found my tribe. Although I was never high back in the day. Recently, though, I've discovered gummies. Party time!
When I was a child I thought they said I was "artistic" and wasted a lot of time and money on oil paints, watercolors, and charcoal pencils before I realized my mistake and began to pursue a more low-functioning career.
I was more of a high, functioning artistic back in the day.
ReplyDeleteCommas are important.
You too?
DeleteIs this another one of those jokes that needs further explanation for us less educated folks?

ReplyDeleteIn memory of Henny Youngman, I'll say it: "Okay kid, you're ugly too."
ReplyDelete@JustaJeepGuy- Was that Youngman or Dangerfield. Either way, a classic line!

ReplyDeleteBetter late than never, plus you don’t have to inhale!

ReplyDelete@Gordon R. Durand- It's certainly possible to be both autistic and artistic. Not to mention a great way to meet nude models!
