@Bobo & Stan- It was my thought that Johnny was just showing some "big brotherly" niceness to her because he's got a good heart. On the other hand, the idea that he's keeping her happy out of a sense of self-preservation is certainly plausible!
@Shayne- Hmm, you guys are starting to convince me. I have my opinions about what goes on under the surface in the strips...but I don't consider myself to be the ultimate authority. It's Johnny's world, I just document it.

I think she might be pulling on Johnny's heart strings.
Either that, or he's (very) appropriately nervous, and wanting to stay on her good side..

Considering how normally insane that little girl is, I think Johnny only said that for self-preservation!
