@JustaJeepGuy- While I always hope everyone will get the punchlines, I must admit that I sometimes selfishly keep gags that will only speak to a few (and probably sometimes only me). Johnny Optimism is really a form of relaxation and self-indulgence for me, and so the obscure and bizarre tends to sneak it pretty regularly.
I remember listing to "The Shadow" on Phoenix radio when I was in high school. We would discuss the broadcast during chemistry class. We had a great chemistry teacher.

I wonder how many people read this and simply didn't get it. Hopefully, some of them Googled or Binged Lamont Cranston....
