Ah, I think Tricky gotcha with that one Stilt. Around our house the term "barking spiders" was a euphemism for unauthorized methane release. Either that or, "Who stepped on a frog".
@It's No Gouda (and TrickyRicky)- Consider me "got." That's not a term I'd heard before. I even had done a quick look online but actually found references to the barking spider being another name for a tarantula. Now you've got me worried that "hissing cockroach" is just a euphemism for peeing...
