@TrickyRicky- My father would have agreed with you. I, however, am in the camp that says if the recipe calls for oysters you can substitute snot balls with no discernible difference.
First Thanksgiving away from home, Fratboys wanted to do it right, and got a fresh, Amish turkey. Taking the pan of "extra" stuffing out of the oven, the one notes "Wow, there's a lot fo stuffing here, did you put any in the bird?" "No, I looked, and it was already packed full"...

Don't forget the oysters. It's not stuffing without oysters.
