Johnny is so sweet!

This cartoon, however, is not enough to bring a smile to my face after reading your closing post over at Hope & Change.

You have NO IDEA how much I will miss you. Your sense of humour is darker than most, a wonderful fact that has kept me a quiet fan for so long. This old Canadian woman has found sanity beyond belief in your ... eccentricity! You never failed to deliver and educate... and make me spew my drink all over my screen and keyboard.

You need and DESERVE a break. But I, for one, eagerly anticipate the return of Stilton.

Quite seriously, the struggle is FAR from over. But, go drink and be merry with your loved ones and come back to us when you are ready to do so. We love you. Platonically of course.

Couldn't agree with the above more, but I won't be able to bring myself to wax political here since this has always been such a wonderful respite from the political insanities that seem to otherwise fill our days. I can always join the conversation with you on Facebook if I feel I have anything relevant to add to the conversation.

Probably not the wheelchair, but perhaps that therapy harness hanging from the ceiling....

In Jr High I was told that the hardest part about eating vegetables was getting them out of the chair.. so the young man in the door seems to have resolved THAT issue.

Not in the wrong room at all; we're just a little early maybe.

Johnny's a stand-up guy, colloquially speaking.

@Noor al Haqiqa- Oh, I'm still here, with dark sense of humor intact. I think we all deserve a breather from politics for awhile (which isn't to say I'm not paying attention, just that I've reprioritized how much of my waking life I want to devote to it).

@Chuck Baker (Macon)- It is nice for Johnny's world to be apolitical. After all, the strip isn's about events, it's about a worldview and attitude ("Things could always get worse...and they will").

@TrickyRicky- I like the way you think.

@Stan da Man- I think Junior High was the last time I heard that particular joke. Although not the last time that I've told it. (grin)

@Rod- When you think about it, it's probably handy to have access to oxygen for a little pick me up...

@Wahoo- Well put. I think it's the mark of a real gentleman to offer a woman the use of his wheelchair.
