Move to Arizona or Hawaii. The Indian reservations observe DST but most of the state does not. Hawaii being in the tropics, daylight hours change little throughout the year DST works out great in the northern US. An extra hour of daylight is enough time to play nine holes or nine innings before darkness descends.
Er, I think you have it backwards. We go on to DST in the spring and we go back to standard time in the fall. Shouldn't she be saying that she's sad in the fall because she loves DST? Can the joke be rescued?
@Readers- Wow, tough crowd! (grin)This is just my semi-annual reminder that I hate DST whether it's coming or going. I'm not going to be right in the head for 3 weeks now. Or at least, as "right" as I get...
I've always had a problem with DST on & off as well. I think it's the frame of reference; most people say "Spring forward, Fall back" and they're talking about the damned clock. Screw the clock. But now in Fall with the clock turned back but it's lighter in the morning then it was last week and dark arrives sooner than it did before. So to my way of thinking WE are AHEAD of where we used to be in time. So what's this BS about fall-back? ALSO: We just got back from a trip out to the Southwest and Arizona doesn't observe DST; but the Indian tribes there do. Put that in the peyote pipe & smoke it. The Land of McCain; maybe that explains some things.

I thought she hated fall because she couldn't get up again. Oh well.
