My bad. I missed the Superman connection and was thinking about the little guy from Al Capp's "Lil Abner" who was followed around by a black rain cloud.
Fantastic. My comic book buddies and I would argue forever about the proper pronunciation back in the wonderful early 60s. "mix-yez-PITTLE-ick" was EXACTLY the way I said it from the jump. WINNING!
