@Readers- I've been following Lucas's story for years, and helping out financially just a bit (as have many of you). His passing was inevitable and, after such a hard life, probably a blessing. Still, I'm saddened by his loss. I like to think of him being reunited with his dog, Juno, and I wish only the best for his friends and family.
@NVRick- 67 years here, which is why I have no idea how to pin a comment at the top. And lest it go without saying, I appreciate the sentiments expressed here. And I'm glad to say that thousands of people have reached out to give emotional support to the Hembree family.
