At my age I always wonder if this is the last vehicle, garden hose, pair of shoes (insert other purchases) that I will ever buy. Maybe it's simply the last couple of years changing me from a glass half full guy to a glass empty and dry guy?
I'm 74 years old, and a shut-in, living alone, wearing a 911 pager button, and in poor health, partly due to my Army service in Viet Nam, requiring weekly visits from a nurse and certified nursing assistants, plus Meals on Wheels, and LOTS of medication.
So, I try to make each Christmas last as long as possible, always wondering if it's the last one I'll see in mortality?
