@John Robert Mallernee- I'm so sorry for your losses. I've lost more than one person to pancreatic cancer, including a guy who was not just my business partner but one of my closest friends. The joke in this cartoon is the inappropriateness of certain singing telegrams and NOT pancreatic cancer, which is an awful damn thing.

Never mind the lyrics. I just have a bad feeling about that guy. Who knows? Maybe Jeffrey Dahmer used to sing for his supper, too.
