"Leftovers make you feel good twice. First, when you put it away, you feel thrifty and intelligent: 'I'm saving food!' Then a month later when blue hair is growing out of the ham, and you throw it away, you feel really intelligent: 'I'm saving my life!'"

- George Carlin, comedian

I feel thrifty and intelligent a lot; I almost never discard anything edible. Except raisins. I really don't like raisins. The squirrels get those. I hope they like them.

Memories: Mom used to serve the meal, then leftovers, then said "Anything still here goes into the soup or the jello." And she was not far off on that. Great cook; only she couldn't make homemade noodles like Grandma.

Thoughts & prayers to you folks!

As I sit here with my family on this day after Thanksgiving, I'm reminded of how we tend to take so many good things in life for granted. We don't have to look very hard to find someone who's facing more challenging times than ourselves.

Having worked in the medical world for 38 years, I know well how "dark humor" can serve to deflect our sorrows from some of the tragic things we see. "Johnny O" has given me & my coworkers much laughter, & we thank you for them.

We're all sending our positive energy to you and Kathy!
