A "squalid" motel room? That reminds me of the night I spent in a motel in East Canton, Ohio once. The sign out front said "SHORT STAY $6.00 ALL NIGHT $8.00" There were giant footprints of solidified mud across the carpet in the room. One night there was more than enough!
