The thing is, I am pretty sure the sound effect of inflating a helium balloon was used. I might have seen the movie in a theater the first time. Any copy I have been able to find online, and the copy I have on DVD, has silence for this scene. I am not sure why someone would demand that the sound be censored out.
I found a better copy of the scene of interest, with sound (except for the one I am sure I heard the first time I saw the movie). Sorry for the double post on the same topic.
While I did (finally) found humor in Dead Baby jokes, and love beyond normalcy Johnny Optimism panels... Tickles, while delivering funny punchlines, has always left me with a lingering feeling of unease...
Some evil is just not funny... but that's my cross to bear.
Love KKFOS, have a copy in 1080p...but I couldn't find the scene to check out if the helium balloon inflation sound is there...oh, well.
@Gee M- There are a number of readers who agree with you about Tickles the Clown and I can't say that any of you are wrong to feel that way. Still, Tickles is such a lowlife that I enjoy writing him. And in my mind, at least, he's sort of an all-around criminal but only a wannabee predator. But yeah, "unease" is not inappropriate.
I meant no disrespect, Mr Stilton...just commenting. You are a wellspring of funny stuff, and if I can love Johnny as much as I do, there's something skewed in all of us, me as well. I just have a strong attitude about children being in need of constant protection from predators and Tickles just jangles those nerves. Among my favorite jokes are many very-un pc racial jokes usually told by a member of that particular race...Polish and Blonde jokes come to mind. I have a large collection of Jewish jokes I love to share...well, thats all I gots ta say. "Thanks for all the fish!:...Flipper
