I like the idea of nurses wearing dirndls,
just not the male ones

@DougM- I'm with you on that. Call me old school, but it's lederhosen for the boys.

Guten Morgen, Mein Herren!

Talk about coincidences!

A week from this coming Wednesday, on the 25th, I have to go to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, a 3 hour drive from here in Vernal, Utah, for my Urology appointment.

I'm hoping they'll remove this Foley Catheter, which keeps getting in the way.

I've had repeated Urinary Tract Infections, and it's been suggested that over time, maybe all those increasingly more powerful antibiotics may have caused me to be so sick, I had to be repeatedly hospitalized, and then endure rehabilitation, before I could return home, where even now, I can't walk and I can't leave my apartment unless someone comes and gets me.

During my military service, I spent a year in Germany before going to Viet Nam, and I grew to love it.

At the Oktoberfest, because of my religious faith, I didn't drink beer, so they loaded me up with soda pop, plus lots of candy and pastries to take back to the barracks.

But, I had fun trying to imitate what they were singing, and swaying back and forth, with our arms on each other's shoulders.

I'm sure you've all seen the movies of the Deutsch celebrating, so you know what I'm describing.

Anyway, Deutschland was very scenic, and a wonderful experience.

Having been all over the World as a soldier in the United States Army, I could probably share quite a few anecdotes with you.

I sure enjoy all of your puns and jokes!

Danke schon.

@KB3KWS: Thank you for your service, and it sounds like you had a blast doing it!

Be cautious and use antibiotics sparingly; Darwin works for germs, too, and the little indefinites are getting tougher and tougher... :)

One of the guys I was in the service with was/is 6'9" 485 lbs. He got a set of lederhosen while in Germany.
He wore them for holidays like Oktoberfest, Fasching, Hallowe'en, Birthdays, Tuesday, etc.
I think they used the leather from two cows to make them.

I sometimes feel like celebrating like that when I can provide a sample on demand. It doesn't always work.

Oldarmourer said...

I'm at the stage where 'producing a sample' doesn't even take a requisition...

JustaJeepGuy said...

But don't you long for the days when the sample would wait for a requisition?

I like the idea ... but you have to fill a 1 liter glass mug each time you provide a sample. Of any kind.
