I always argue this whenever I'm asked..."one man's one is another man's ten"...some have felt pain excruciating enough that their 'ten' would mean they couldn't even speak to say it, while for others a stubbed toe is their 'ten'. Any scale is completely arbitrary and utterly meaningless, just make it stop or sast least dull it enough I can function.

The presence of blood doesn't always indicate pain. However, the rabbit that tore off his hand probably didn't care about that.
