I only saw the first Star Wars movie when it came out in 1977, so I got nothin'.

If I had to guess, I'd say @Stilton may possibly be a Star Wars nerd. Warp factor 9, Chewie...er, Mr. Sulu, er...whatever...

If he's to be dropped down a chimney accurately,
kid needs to pray the stork isn't an ex Imperial Stormtrooper

I'm not really a Star Wars nerd. I liked the first one, REALLY liked the second one, thought the third one was okay-ish. The money-grab prequels and sequels don't exist in my universe.

That line was in the first one; Luke was going after the Death Star, and told everyone not to worry, 'cause...etc. And he shot his missile down that tiny opening. Not a SW nerd, just saw the movies. And the animation, and all the spin offs except the Acolyte ... that REALLY blows!

That's like some nerd saying "I like football, especially when someone hits a home run."

"I like football, especially when someone hits a home run and gets nothin' but net!"

@Stilt, I saw the first movie in June of 1976 when it was being test-marketed. Shortly after, the ship I was on made a Med cruise but I was apparently the only one in the engine room who had seen it and nobody knew what I was doing when I grabbed a flashlight and said "I'm a Jedi Knight!" while swinging the flashlight around like a light saber. When we got back to the States in Feb. of '77, people finally saw the movie and I wasn't the weirdo any more.

Yet as Obi-Wan says about the shot up sandcrawler: "these blaster points...only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise"...most of their 'misses' were against primary characters who were 'strong in the force' and we've seen some of them direct blaster fire back at the ones firing so it makes more sense that the Stormtroopers were using their sights well but the force deflected the shots.
