As has become tradition, I happily present another group of kids who prove that life's infirmities are no match for Halloween spirit!

When life gives you lemons, you can make lemonade. But if life gives you a wheelchair and an imagination, you can make anything you want - as these kids and their families prove!

Joy isn't always where you find it...sometimes it's where you make it. And that's a lesson that makes a darn good Halloween treat no matter what your age.

Halloween 2019

Our annual Halloween posting is probably our favorite of the year. Not just because we love Halloween, although that certainly enters into it. But because it allows us to showcase the real kids who are demonstrating the central principle of this unusual webcomic: Life can treat you unfairly, but you can fight back with humor.

We don't normally get misty at Halloween, but we can't hold back a manly sniffle or two (and a lot of approving laughter) while looking at the wonderful wheelchair costumes put together by these kids, their families, and caregivers. They're all heroes in our book, and a genuine inspiration.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2016

As is tradition here, we celebrate Halloween with an inspiring look at some wonderfully clever and creative costumes which incorporate their owners' wheelchairs.

Seeing the love, work, and imagination that went into these costumes - and seeing how much fun the kids are having - makes us even happier than the sugar high we'll get tonight while sampling the candy we'll be giving to the trick-or-treaters!
